A Living Medina Steeped in History

Marrakech boasts a wealth of architectural landmarks. The Bahia Palace, built in the 19th century, is a masterpiece of Islamic art, with its Andalusian-style gardens, hand-painted ceilings, and intricate tilework. Nearby, the Saadian Tombs, rediscovered in 1917, are a stunning example of royal burial architecture dating back to the 16th century.

Another landmark is the Koutoubia Mosque, with its 77-meter-high minaret visible from across the city. This iconic structure served as the inspiration for Seville’s Giralda and Rabat’s Hassan Tower.

Green Spaces and Modern Charm

For a tranquil escape, the Majorelle Garden is a must-visit. Originally created by French painter Jacques Majorelle and later restored by fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent, the garden is home to exotic plants, cobalt blue accents, and a Berber museum.

Marrakech is also embracing modernity. It features contemporary art galleries, luxury hotels, world-class spas, and hosts renowned international events such as the Marrakech International Film Festival.
